Von Hippel-Lindau(VHL) Syndrome: Case Report

Purpose: This case report aims to present a case of VHL syndrome with its typical clinical features
Case report: A 15-year-old female presented with deterioration of vision in both eyes noticed since 1 month.On examination the visual acuity was 6/60 in right eye and PL positive in left eye.Anterior segment was normal.Fundus revealed multiple retinal angiomas of variable size with feeder vessels and dense exudation over the posterior pole in the right eye and left eye showed tractional retinal detachment.Her mother had a similar picture with one eye phthisis bulbi secondary to retinal detachment surgery and the other eye with multiple angiomas and minimal exudation.Patient couldn’t afford MRI and was referred to higher center for further management 
Conclusion: VHL is a blinding disorder usually affecting young individuals. It needs a multidisciplinary approach and early diagnosis helps improve visual outcomes due to prompt ablation of angiomas
