SURGICAL DEMONSTRATION OF MODIFIED NISHIDA’S  PROCEDURE

PURPOSE:Surgical demonstrate of  modified Nishida’s procedure for 6thCN palsy,monocular elevation defect and 3rdCN palsy.
OBJECTIVE:In this study we are presenting case series of large angle deviation,due to 6thCN palsy,monocular elevation defect and 3rdCN palsy who underwent modified Nishida’s procedure.
METHODS:3 cases after preoperative squint evaluation having,case1 LE>45degree esotropia post 6thCN palsy,case2 RE 30degree hypotropia and case3 LE>45degree exotropia due to 3rdCN palsy where included.
RESULTS:3 cases underwent modified Nishida’s procedure as primary surgery.Post operative evaluation was done and were followed up on 1st day,1month and 3 months.
CONCLUSION:The modified Nishida’s procedure is least traumatizing ciliary vessel sparing muscle transposition procedure hence anterior ischaemia syndrome in this surgery is less compared to other muscle transposition surgery and this procedure has been proven to be effective,easy and reversible option for muscle transposition.
