DEMONSTRATION OF VARIOUS METHODS OF SILICONE TUBE INTUBATION IN FAILED DCR & CANALICULAR OBSTRUCTION

METHOD
In this method we have demonstrated different techniques which can be used in failed DCR/ primary canalicular obstruction with minimal invasion. Bicanalicular silicon tube was introduced through upper and lower punctum and drawn out from the nasal cavity by using different techniques which are the highlight of the study. The ends of the tube were knotted together, and then left free in the nasal cavity.
RESULTS
Total of 20 failed DCR and 5 primary canalicular obstruction patients were included in the study. Silicone tube intubation was done using different techniques. No significant difficulty encountered in any case intraoperatively. During the follow-up no complication was observed
CONCLUSION
Techniques described in this study are easy to understand and perform. It is a relatively nontraumatic and inexpensive method. There are different types of silicon tube intubation techniques used currently, one can identify the easier ways for better outcome of the patient
