EFFECTIVENESS OF AZITHROMYCIN OINTMENT AND HOT FERMENTATION IN MEIBOMIAN GLAND DISEASES
PURPOSE: To determine effectiveness of azithromycin eye ointment and hot fermentation in meibomian gland diseases. MATERIALS / METHODS A prospective study of 20 patients were selected and divided into 2 groups.10 patients were given only hot fermentation and 10 were treated by azithromycin eye ointment. RESULTS Out of total 20 patients, speedy recovery of diseases is seen only in patients who were using azithromycin eye ointment. CONCLUSION Azithromycin eye ointment is very safe and effective in treating of meibomian gland dysfunction.
