THE RETINAL AND CHOROIDAL PERFUSION DENSITY IN MYOPIA USING OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY ANGIOGRAPHY

PURPOSE: To evaluate the retinal and choroidal perfusion density in myopia using OCTA and to assess correlation of myopia to Axial length(AL) and Spherical Equivalent(SE).
METHODS AND MATERIALS: In this cross-sectional study The Retinal and choroidal perfusion densities of 104 eyes of 52 participants in age group of 18-35years were measured using OCTA and correlation with AL and SE were analyzed.
RESULTS:The mean age of the participants is 23.8yrs(19-29 yrs). The AL ranges from 21.38 - 28.00m mean (24.95+/-1.95m).The SE ranges from -2.25 to -20.75D mean(-11.42+/-6.26D).In Simple Myopia the mean Central, Inner, Outer, Full is 0.75%,6.075%,8.3%,8.08%, in High Myopia its 2.47%,17.61%,29.36%,30.16% and in Pathological myopia its 5.75%,30.15 %,41.66%,35.09 % respectively. The p value is 0.02 and 0.03 for perfusion density and AL respectively.
CONCLUSION: The Retinal and Choroidal perfusion density and AL increases as myopia increases. Small sample size is the limitation of this study.
