Title: Computer Vision Syndrome prevalence among the computer user patients attending to OPD

Purpose: To assess CVS prevalence and severity among OPD patients aimed to identify potential risk factors and propose effective mitigation strategies to alleviate the symptoms

Methods: Cross-sectional study with OPD patients (n=80) regularly using computers for ≥2 hours. Questionnaire on demographics, computer usage and CVS symptoms. Eye examinations evaluated visual acuity, refractive errors, and ocular health. Statistical analysis examined correlations and impact of CVS

Results: 75% of surveyed OPD patients reported CVS symptoms including eye strain, dryness, headache and blurred vision. Prolonged computer use, poor ergonomics and inadequate lighting were significant risk factors

Conclusion: This study reveals a high prevalence of CVS symptoms among OPD patients using computers. Implementing preventive measures like ergonomic workstations, proper lighting and regular breaks along with periodic eye examination can reduce CVS burden and improve ocular health in computer users
