Title :Utility of macular vessel density(MVD)in diagnosis of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG).

PURPOSE:To assess MVD measured by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A)in POAG patients.
METHODS &MATERIALS: In this cross sectional study, 25 eyes of age group abovie 40 years(14 POAG and 11 normal eyes) were analysed from April 2023 to June 2023. Macular vessel densities of the participant were measured using OCT-A.Then the values are compared between POAG patients & normal .
RESULTS: Age-adjusted mean MVD measured by OCT-A is divided into central, inner, outer & full.The MVD in glaucomatous eyes was lower than that in healthy eyes, in the central(1.00+/- 1.038,vs 4.35+/-2.203,p=0.911), inner(3.14+/- 4.055 vs 9.55+/- 3.984, p=<0.001), outer (3.14+/- 0.949 vs 9.27 +/- 3.608, p=0.001), and full(2.86+/- 1.027 vs 9.09+/- 3.590 p<0.001).
CONCLUSION: The study conducted with 25 participants showed statistical significance. OCT-A MVD has diagnostic accuracy for differentiating between healthy eyes & POAG eyes.OCT-A shows potential to become a part of everyday glaucoma management.
