TITLE   -  VIRAL NEURORETINITIS
                NEVER TOO LATE TO START STEROIDS BUT WITH CAUTION!!!

CASE PRESENTATION: A 17 year old male presented with complaints of diminution of vision in right eye since 3 wks gives h/o viral fever 1 month back and was started on antibiotics.On examinationVA:PL+,PRaccurate,Fundus:RE:hyperemic disc with edema with hemorrhages and exudates forming macular star and OCT macula CMT660microns.In view of which patient was planned to start on IV prednisolone and adviced to get ESR,CRP-N.1week after steroids vision improved to 2mts,Fundus-partially resolving exudates forming macular star and haemorrhages.Patient was started on oral prednisolone 50mg and topical prednisolone eye drops.IOP -43mmHG and oral steroids are tapered and patient was started on brimonidine+timolol combination eye drops BD(Steroid responder)After 1 month vision improved to 6/36 Fundus-resolving macular star ,IOP-20mmHG,OCT macula–CMT 222 microns.
CONCLUSION: Even after late presentation of neuroretinitis prompt treatment with steroids can produce good visual outcome but with caution
