Back to Basics- Principles and Pearls in retinal imaging
Imaging the retinochoroid has gained importance with the ease of its accessibility and awareness among eye specialists. Sound knowledge of its utility, analysis, and image interpretation helps in addressing retinochoroidal diseases at the gross root. The present instruction course simplifies the fundamentals of retino-choroidal anatomy and its reflectance properties with different wavelengths. This brings them to enface imaging and its clinical relevance. More detailed contrast-based blood flow patterns and interpretations are shown in a plethora of clinical cases. Advanced imaging including motion contrast studies and its future directions are briefed at the end. Abundant imaging pictures from diagnosis to treatment end, video plays and case studies are the highlights of the course. The course helps a wide range of listeners from postgraduates to comprehensive clinicians to assimilate, incorporate and exercise retinal imaging much easier than before.
The instructor coordinating the IC is specialized in the management of vitreo-retinal disorders including a great deal of interest in retinal imaging. Has more than 50 Pubmed indexed publications to his credit and half of which are focused on the utility of retinal imaging in evaluating retinal disorders. The instructor was part of IC’s (KOSCON) in state and national conferences (AIOS) in previous years and is actively involved in training postgraduates. fellows in the medical and surgical retina.
